World class waves in nearby Raglan are again calling some of the best surfers to New Zealand.
After a successful debut in May, organisers of the World Surf League (WSL) have confirmed that the New Zealand Pro will return as a stop on the 2027 Championship Tour.
Manu Bay is the ideal location for the event, Waikato District Council Mayor Aksel Bech says.
“The 2026 World Surf League event created a real buzz, drawing visitors from across New Zealand and the globe. We were pleased to see local businesses bustling, the town and surrounds making use of every opportunity to showcase all that Raglan has to offer,” he says.
“Receiving confirmation of the league’s return in 2027 is a strong endorsement of the event’s success, the local community and Raglan’s place on the global surfing stage.”
