As reported earlier, police vehicles were witnessed racing from Bombay to Tuakau or Pukekohe. Rumours were also swirling about police cars, a fire engine and an ambulance outside McDonald’s Pukekohe.
The Times can now confirm that emergency services presence relates to two unconnected incidents, a death at Pukekohe McDonald’s and a search warrant execution in Tuakau.
“Police are executing a pre-planned search warrant at a Tuakau address. No further information is available at this stage,” a police spokesperson confirms.
“The [police presence in Pukekohe] was the result of a medical event. Someone has sadly passed away. This is completely unrelated to the [incident] occurring in Tuakau, not Pukekohe.”
Hato Hone St John responded to the medical emergency earlier today.
“Hato Hone St John was notified of an incident at Hall Street, Pukekohe, responding with one ambulance and one rapid response unit.”
