One person has been critically injured and transported to hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Drury this morning.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Fitzgerald Road and Brookfield Road around 7.10am.
Fitzgerald Road is closed between Waihoehoe Road and Cossey Road, while Brookfield Road is also closed.
Motorists should avoid the area and expect delays until further notice.
Update:
“The road remains closed, and motorists are being turned round from the points specified – only one person was injured,” police confirmed for the Times, 9.12am.
Hato Hone St John has confirmed the condition of the injured person is “serious.”
“[St John] was notified of this crash at 7.11am, dispatching one ambulance, one operations manager and one rapid response vehicle,” a spokesperson says.
“One patient was assessed by the ambulance crew at the scene and was transported to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.”
