The latest Roy Morgan political poll shows the current coalition government, comprised of the National Party, ACT Party and New Zealand First, at 51 per cent support.
It’s leading the opposition bloc of the Labour Party, Green Party and Te Pāti Māori, which together are on 42 per cent.
The coalition government would have a majority with 61 seats in Parliament based on these numbers.
Support for National rose slightly to 31 per cent, while NZ First was down slightly to 10.5 per cent.
The ACT Party was down slightly to 9.5 per cent.
Labour fell one per cent to 25.5 per cent, while the Greens’ support rose one per cent to 13.5 per cent.
Support for Te Pāti Māori rose slightly to three per cent.
The Opportunity Party received 6.5 per cent support, which is enough to see them enter Parliament on the party vote without needing to win an electorate seat.
