With Franklin infrastructure projects in full swing, even in Clevedon they’re feeling the boom.
A $2.8 million town centre upgrade is now another step closer with detailed designs prepared and public consultation set to launch soon.
Since consulting on the concept plan in 2024, the Franklin Local Board has secured $1.2m through Auckland Council’s $20 million Fix and Finish Fund, helping fast-track the project towards delivery.
“We were thrilled to secure this funding as it was only available to projects that were ready to progress and in parts of Auckland within the former Manukau City Council area,” Franklin Local Board Chair, Alan Cole says.
“This investment brings us much closer to delivering the vibrant village centre Clevedon deserves. We’re looking forward to sharing the detailed designs and hearing what the community thinks before construction gets under way.”
Feedback has already helped shape the plans, but locals will have another opportunity to have their say when detailed designs go out for consultation next month.
