The Devil Wears Prada 2

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is the latest legacy sequel, but in the sea of questionable products with no story to tell, Prada 2 feels like it has a lot to say about the state of journalism.
We are slowly slipping into a world that will be fully digital and with that comes the death of journalism, but Prada 2 fights back against that reality and the importance it still holds.
As someone who doesn’t really enjoy the original film, the characters in Prada 2 feel like they have a more fleshed-out sense of direction to them.
Streep’s Miranda is still grossly unlikable, but where the story goes, paired with a more felt comedic direction, she becomes more engaging instead of painfully one-note.
But the one consistent aspect between the two films is Tucci’s Nigel. He constantly gets the most laughs out of me, and his arc is worth the price of admission.
While both films aren’t my sense of humour, seeing them in a crowded theatre is the best way to experience the films.
Overall, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a successful legacy sequel that embraces its past whilst not feeling held back by the original film.
