Benchmark Survey Group Ltd – Land Surveyor – Survey Technician

About us: Benchmark Survey Group is a land surveying company based in Karaka, working across a wide range of construction projects throughout the Auckland region. We combine traditional field surveying with modern capture methods, including GNSS, drone photogrammetry and point cloud processing, to give our clients accurate, practical data they can build from. We’re a close family team, and we’re growing.

The role: We’re looking for a Land Survey Technician to join us in a mix of field and office work. You’ll be out on active construction sites carrying out setout, as-built and topographic surveys, then back in the office processing data and producing deliverables for our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

• Construction setout, as-built and topographic surveys on civil and development sites
• Operating GNSS receivers and field tablets, and collecting data to our standards
• Processing survey data and producing drawings and surfaces in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Supporting our drone photogrammetry and point cloud workflows (Agisoft Metashape, ReCap)
• Working with contractors, engineers and site managers to keep projects moving
• Following site health and safety requirements at all times

What we’re looking for:

• 2 Years experience in surveying, ideally construction or land development
• An advantage, but not required would be a relevant qualification (e.g. NZ Diploma in Surveying) or working towards one
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with GNSS equipment; photogrammetry or point cloud experience is a bonus
• Site Safe passport desirable
• Attention to detail, good communication and a practical problem-solving attitude
• Full NZ driver licence
• The right to work in New Zealand
