Cam on, ABs!
Counties Manukau star Cam Roigard has been back in action for the All Blacks during the first two tests of the tour of South Africa.
The dynamic halfback opened the scoring for the visitors, dotting down under the posts at DHL Stadium, Cape Town, at the weekend.
However, the All Blacks had their first defeat of the tour (33–26) unable to back up the previous weekend’s win (33–16).
The All Blacks and Springboks play again this weekend (kicking off 3.10am, September 6, NZ time) with the series level at 1–1.
Fox putts on
After finishing 26th in the recent 2026 Tour Championship, Ryan Fox is now set to tee off in the Presidents Cup, September 22-27.
The Beachlands-raised golfer will represent the international team against the best from the USA.
Dutch courage
Former Pukekohe kart racer, Liam Lawson needed no Dutch courage – we hope he didn’t! – to claim seventh at the recent Dutch Grand Prix.
Lawson is now 9th in the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship standings with his Red Bull Racing team running hot in fourth.
Attention turns to Milan for the Italian Grand Prix, September 4–7.

Steelers tame Lions, Heat Rises
The boys were back on top (although not back in town) at the Cake Tin, Wellington on Sunday. The Steelers registered their first win of the National Provincial Championship (NPC), 46–35 over the Wellington Lions.
The victory also ensured that the Jonah Lomu trophy will stay in Pukekohe.
Back at home, Pukekohe’s Navigation Homes Stadium, the Counties Manukau Heat fell short against Waikato in a Battle of the Bombays marking the opening round of the Farah Palmer Cup (FPC).
The Heat dominated the first forty but Waikato hit back hard to win 28–19.
Both home teams are at home this Sunday, September 6 as the Steelers host Southland and the Heat take on Manawatu.
