After seven years of managing Seddon64 Eatery and Bar, it is time for me to say farewell.
Selling the restaurant marks the end of a huge part of my life; it is my time to finish and let someone else take the reins and continue on.
I feel I have been very fortunate to be able to do the things I love; I feel I’ve done what I needed to do.
Back in the day, and for many years, the building was Stevens and Jenkins Repair Shop, a cold, dark shed with good bones. Some serious work was done to create a space for people to meet with friends and family, eat delicious food, drink fine wines and cocktails, and share special times together.
Every business has its challenges, and certainly we have had a few years of those. I don’t think I have ever known such turbulent and complicated times in my 30 years of being involved in the hospitality industry.
That said, I feel very fortunate to have established a restaurant in such a wonderful supportive town as Pukekohe, with its strong focus on community. I will miss the chats and the laughs shared with customers and regular diners who have supported us from the day we opened our doors in 2019.
To the fantastic, loyal people I have worked alongside for years, thank you; it’s been my pleasure. It’s definitely going to be different not seeing you every day.
I am happy to announce that the restaurant will stay as an Italian Bar and Eatery. You will be well looked after by the new owners, and our same amazing team will be staying on.
I will be staying at the restaurant until August 8. I can’t say too much about my new venture at this stage, but it will have a massive social side to it.
In the meantime, enjoy great food with the people you love and share your love of great things.
