Counties Manukau Police are calling for information on the actions of impudent thieves who have broken into an East Tamaki auto business and stolen “a large number of items”.
The brazen burglary happened in the dark cold hours of Monday morning, July 13, inspector Ann Wilkie, the Counties Manukau East Police area response manager, has told the Times.
She says police didn’t receive information about the burglary until later that day at 2.16pm.
“Police received a report of a burglary at a commercial premises on Harris Road, East Tamaki.
“Between 3.40am and 4.30am that morning an unidentified person arrived and made entry to the premises through a side door.
“This person has taken items from inside and left, before retuning around an hour later with two additional unidentified people,” says Wilkie.
“The three offenders have then stolen a large number of items from inside the premise, as well as unsuccessfully attempting to steal two vehicles.
“They have then left on bicycles.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of those involved.”
