It’ll take many good turns for entrants in this year’s road cycling IBUILT Junior Tour to take top honours.
Secondary school-aged riders are set to compete on roads in the Otaua and Aka Aka areas, June 20–22. From hill climbs to time trials and road racing, the event includes plenty for up-and-coming cycling stars.
Road management will be in place but please take care if driving in the vicinity.

Hampton Downs has been confirmed as one of just three tracks to feature as New Zealand Superbike Championship adopts a new, three-round format for 2027.
In gear in Timaru (January 21-23), future Aaron Slights will the contest the New Zealand Grand Prix at Ruapuna, Christchurch a week later before crossing the finishing line during the Aaron Slight Trophy spectacular at Hampton Downs, March 5–7.
The new schedule will optimise returns and reduce costs, series promoter Mike Marsden says.
“It’s a tough environment, so we need to maximise value for all, particularly our competitors. That means consolidating and capitalising on progress made over the past two years,” he says.
“We will only run three events, but three very good, viable and successful events while delivering the same amount of track time for competitors. The new format also presents a much better proposition for fans, with a full race card on both Saturday and Sunday to enjoy.”
