Trends lean into rich colour, tactile materials and soft lighting with natural products and ethically made furniture.
Winter interiors in 2026 are all about cocooning – creating spaces that feel nurturing, layered and deeply personal. The season’s palette, textures and materials all point toward warmth, depth and a return to nature.
Colour trends embrace deep greens, warm terracotta, moody blues and soft,
mushroom neutrals. These tones create a grounded, enveloping atmosphere.
Accent colours, such as burnt amber and mulberry, add richness without being overwhelming. Using these shades on feature walls, textiles or furniture helps homes feel modern and snug.
Texture is the hero of winter design – think bouclé, chunky knits, faux fur, velvet, and natural wool. Layering these materials – throws over sofas, cushions in mixed fabrics, rugs over flooring – adds warmth and visual interest.
