Business owner Andre Nel says engineered timber boards use a multi-layer core (cross-layered plywood) with a genuine European hardwood veneer on top, which resists cupping, shrinking and swelling better than solid wood in variable humidity and temperature.
“The top veneer look is authentic, and it preserves the look and feel of solid timber. Engineered construction prevents movement issues of equivalent solid planks.
“As it is real wood, you willhave the ability to sand and refinish the floor (depending on veneer thickness). It’s suitable in kitchens and for underfloor heating and the technology reduces installation time.”
Andre says the European engineered floors come prefinished with durable UV-cured lacquer. Quality Floors also offers unfinished engineered floors and parquet like Herringbone and Fingerstrip options where you can add your own character by selecting the colour.
