Matariki is a time of reflection and renewal – looking back at the year that’s been and looking forward to what’s needed next. In the last issue, we shared our He Kāinga Haumaru donation drive, launched to support whānau across Franklin and north Waikato this winter. Alongside that, we’re putting another call out to our community: what do you need?
Every day, our kaimahi walk alongside whānau across the region, and that work shapes everything we do. But the best ideas about what our community needs don’t come from us
they come from the community itself. That includes the solutions, not just the problems.
So, this Matariki we’ve launched a short, completely anonymous survey – requiring just 3–5 minutes, no names required. Whatever your background, whatever your situation, your
voice matters. Tell us what’s missing, what’s already working and what you think would actually help.
You’ll find it by scanning the QR code alongside this column, or via our website and Facebook page. It’s open now, and we’d love to hear from you before the end of July.
This isn’t feedback. We’ll take what we hear and use it to advocate – to funders, to local decision-makers, to anyone who can help us close the gaps you tell us about. Real change
starts with real listening and listening starts with asking.
