A man has been charged after failing to make a getaway from an aggravated robbery at a Takanini dairy.
Police responded to the incident at the dairy on Challen Close, Conifer Grove before 10.30pm yesterday (July 21), Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Robson (Counties Manukau CIB) says.
“He allegedly presented a weapon at the shopkeeper that was working and made demands, before leaving the store. Fortunately, the worker was not physically injured as a result of the offending.”
Police soon located and arrested the alleged offender, a 20-year-old man. He is set to appear in the Papakura District Court today.
The latest arrest follows four others connected to aggravated robberies in the wider in the Counties Manukau area recently.
“These offenses have all been against local businesses and our investigators continue to work hard to hold those responsible to account,” Robson adds.
