When doctors can’t agree on a diagnosis, who is believed? Rachel was rapidly losing weight and struggling to eat. Some doctors believed she had a rare and debilitating condition requiring urgent surgery overseas.
Others argued the evidence was weak, the diagnosis controversial, and the proposed treatment dangerous. They believed Rachel’s symptoms were psychological. As her health worsened, Rachel and her family became desperate.
