Great facilities, even greater community

A lot is happening at Karaka Lifestyle Estate, and the clubhouse is where the village comes to life.

A grand Parnell mansion dating back to 1907 has been carefully restored and reimagined as the social heart of the village, now joined by a contemporary new extension opened in December. Inside and out, it’s a place built for good times: a heated outdoor swimming pool, residents’ bar, games and recreation room, library, wellness room, catering kitchen and plenty of quiet spaces for a quiet coffee or a proper catch-up.

The clubhouse extension has been architecturally designed for greater accessibility and acoustics, so it feels easy, comfortable and genuinely usable. Future plans include the addition of an indoor pool and spa complex.

The newly opened bowling green is already getting plenty of attention too, with seasoned players and complete beginners sharing the green. Village resident and keen bowler Alan calls it a marvellous facility, and says bowls is as much about relationships as it is about the game. Judging by the number of residents giving it a go, he may be onto something.

Of course, village life is about much more than facilities. At Karaka Lifestyle Estate, it is the people who make the place feel special. Recently, residents organised their own Anzac Day service, complete with a bagpipe procession, poppies placed through the village, heartfelt speeches and morning tea with Anzac biscuits. It was thoughtful, personal and entirely resident-led, the sort of thing that says a lot about a community.

Karaka Lifestyle Estate offers a range of two- and three-bedroom homes, including standalones, duplexes and elevated apartment living. On completion, the village will include approximately 270 homes, all with the added benefit of capital gains.

So yes, come for the clubhouse. But don’t be surprised if the people are what make you stay for another cup of tea.
