A one-day showcase has replaced the Arapera Country Music Awards.
Organised by Kym Cormack and Wendy Clarke, the awards were to be held in Pukekohe from April 11-13.
However, Clarke said their competition clashes with another event and a special showcase will be held at the Pukekohe Cosmopolitan Club on Saturday, April 12, instead.
Despite replacing the awards with the showcase, the songwriters’ competition went ahead. Amy Maynard took top honours with her song Road Less Travelled, with Millie Cottam runner-up for her song This Is Me.
The showcase begins with a walk-up session from 11am to 3pm, where anyone can join a singsong with the band I Roam. From 5.30pm onwards, the dinner showcase features headliner Josh Keating, with invited guests Sharon, Kylie, Jon, Keinan, Bill, and Steven.
