Comfort food – so hot right now!

As temperatures drop, many of us will opt for comfort food. Thankfully, from fine dining to fast food, Franklin has a hefty menu from which to choose.

Winter menus centre on classic meals that have been popular for generations because they are hearty, satisfying and full of flavour.

From slow-cooked roasts to rich soups and creamy pasta dishes, these meals deliver a sense of comfort, warming us from the inside.

Many of us are drawn to traditional winter favourites because they are not only filling but also often connect to memories of family dinners and relaxed evenings indoors.

Restaurants embrace such seasonal demand by adding warming specials as well as rich sauces and decadent desserts, such as sticky date pudding and apple crumble.

Comfort food is also closely linked with atmosphere. During winter, cosy spaces with warm lighting, soft music and welcoming service are most often sought. Sharing a meal becomes part of the experience, especially when the dishes encourage slower, more relaxed dining.

Although food trends change and Franklin has a wide range of cuisine available, comfort food never really goes out of fashion.

Reliability and regularity are often sought during colder months whether we’re looking to dine out in style or eat in in comfort.
