A 30-year-old man was arrested at a Drury construction site last night after being spotted for suspicious activity.
Just before 10.30pm, police were notified of a vehicle parked outside the Fielding Road site.
Shortly after the Police Eagle helicopter was overhead and identified a man with a backpack hiding behind a dirt pile.
“Eagle was able to maintain observations on the person until a unit arrived,” says Senior Sergeant Kushla Clarke from Counties Manukau Police.
“One person was quickly taken into custody and a bag with a number of tools was also seized,” she says.
The man will appear in Papakura District Court today charged with burglary and possession of instruments for burglary.
