Some of the best local businesses are aiming to have their efforts recognised during the upcoming Auckland Business Awards.
Voting has opened in one of the most fiercely contested categories, People’s Choice.
One of a number of Franklin organisations in the South and East Auckland region is a number of businesses in its own right, the Pukekohe Business Association (PBA).
“We’re incredibly proud to be nominated,” PBA GM Shawna Coleman says. “Usually, we’re celebrating achievements and successes of our members, so to be recognised ourselves is both humbling and rewarding.
“This nomination reflects the efforts of our team, executive committee, members and wider business community who contribute to making Pukekohe such a vibrant place to do business. A vote for PBA is a vote for a local organisation that advocates for, connects and champions our business community.”
The Franklin contingent nominated for People’s Choice includes a diverse range of businesses. In addition to Waiuku’s popular Glow Restaurant and Bar, A Personal Touch (personalised gift creators), Computer Food (computer consumable suppliers), Bioforce (sustainable pest controllers), Hunter Withers (accountants) and Karioitahi’s Cliffside are all in the mix.
In general, the annual awards provides businesses across the Super City with the chance to celebrate excellence, be recognised for hard work and show why customers love them for it.
Businesses are vying for the judges’ attention across nine categories, also including accolades for the best emerging business, excellence in innovation, customer service, marketing, sustainability and more.
Coleman is (quite rightly!) cheering for Pukekohe entrants in particular.
“One of our greatest privileges is seeing local businesses succeed. So, if a Pukekohe business takes home the award, that’s still something to celebrate,” she adds.
“Pukekohe has an incredibly supportive and collaborative business community and we’re proud to stand alongside so many deserving nominees. Winning would be wonderful, but being recognised among such great local organisations is already an honour.”
