Police are searching the Waikato River for a missing person, Sergeant Mark Harrison confirms.
“Police first received a report at 1.30am near Swarbrick Landing off River Road (Hamilton). Search and rescue boats and a police helicopter have been assisting with the search,” he says.
“Police will have an ongoing presence on the river and in the area. People on the river today are asked to keep an eye out for any items of interest and to contact police if they see anything.
More information will be released as soon as possible, he adds.
