The Clevedon Valley Music Foundation Trust can be trusted to raise the roof yet again with a lot of help from local choirs.
Titled To Music, the foundation’s upcoming concert will feature performances by Clevedon Artistic and Musical Adventures (CAMA) and Clevedon Crooners, the Tuakau College Choir, Pukekohe’s Majors ‘n’ Minors and more.
To be held at the Clevedon Presbyterian Church (St Andrew’s), 3 Papakura-Clevedon Road, the Sunday, September 13 concert is the last in this year’s series.
“Our September concert is particularly special as it will showcase some of the region’s outstanding young choral talent,” the foundation’s Bernice Potter confirms. “We’re putting the spotlight on these amazing young musicians.”
What’s more, the foundation is planning a scholarship competition as it seeks to discover the next Samuel Mataele, a past winner who also won the prestigious Kiri Te Kanawa Song Quest in July.
“This is another important part of what we do as a trust – support emerging musicians and help them develop their craft. This is always a popular competition [and] previous winners have gone on to achieve some fantastic things.”
