If you’ve filled up at Z Bombay recently, you may have noticed something a little different at the counter. A token. And a choice. Z Energy’s Good in the Hood campaign gives customers the chance to direct funding to a local community organisation, simply by dropping a token into a box. No forms. No fuss. Just a small gesture with a big impact.
This year, Mai Lighthouse has been selected at Z Bombay – and we’d love your support. But first, we want to make sure you know exactly what your token goes towards. Because we do a lot more than many people realise. Here’s what Mai Lighthouse offers – all free, all confidential:
Our social workers walk alongside whanau navigating some of life’s hardest moments. Our counsellors provide tamariki and adults with a safe place to work through feelings and problems. Our financial mentors sit down with whānau to untangle debt, build budgets, and access entitlements they didn’t know they had.
We also offer a free legal clinic every Thursday, a JP service, medical transport for whanau who can’t get to appointments, and a Heartland Services hub helping people navigate government agencies. Our programmes include Rangatahi Strong for young people aged 16-24, Teen Toolbox and Incredible Years for parents, and maiTane – a transformative programme for tane in our community.
And our beloved Tuakau Op Shop at 5 George Street keeps the lights on while giving our community a place to find treasures and donate pre-loved goods. Every token dropped in our box at Z Bombay helps fund this mahi – for the whanau of Franklin and North Waikato who need it most.
