Police are investigating an alleged shooting in Port Waikato last night.
Officers were called to an address on Centreway Rd, Port Waikato after receiving a report of a person injured, the Times understands.
The person was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police are investigating but there is believed to be no further risk to the public.
Update:
“Hato Hone St John was notified of this incident at 8:28pm yesterday, responding with one ambulance, one helicopter and two rapid response vehicles,” a spokesperson has now confirmed.
“One patient was assessed at the scene and was transported to Middlemore Hospital (by ambulance) in a moderate condition.”
