Yet another disorderly dirt biker has been nabbed by police. The latest report follows a spate of bad riding from south Auckland down to Hamilton.
Around 3.50pm this afternoon, a dirt bike reported to be driving dangerously collided with a car in central Hamilton. No one was injured, but the dirt bike rider immediately ran from the scene.
However, an off-duty officer was watching and followed the man until on-duty police arrived.
After a foot chase, during which people assisted police by pointing out the offender’s movements, a 33-year-old man was arrested. He appeared in Hamilton District Court today facing charges related to dangerous driving and failing to stop.
The bike, confirmed as stolen, has been impounded for 28 days and further enquiries will be made to confirm its owner.
