Locals commuting south may need to allow extra time this morning following a ‘serious crash’ south of Te Kauwhata, north of Rangiriri.
Police were called to the crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at approximately 7am.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised and the Waikato Expressway (southbound) is expected to remain closed for some time while emergency services work at the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
