A meaningful community event is set to take place at the Auckland Botanic Gardens on Sunday, May 17, as people from across the city gather for ‘Walk2Remember’.
It’s an event described as a heartfelt opportunity to honour loved ones who have passed while supporting vital hospice services in the region.
Tōtara Hospice says the walk builds on the legacy of the much‑loved Sunrise Walk, previously hosted before Covid-19.
This year’s Walk2Remember event offers a reflective, family‑friendly experience along the gardens’ peaceful autumn pathways, inviting friends, families and colleagues to come together in remembrance, celebration and connection.
Funds raised will support Tōtara Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care to people living with life‑limiting illnesses across south and south-east Auckland.
The hospice serves more than 520,000 residents from Māngere to Maraetai and Drury to Orere Point, offering expert, holistic care free of charge to patients and their family.
Walk2Remember gives participants a way to celebrate the lives of those they miss while contributing directly to the future of hospice care in their own community.
